The residential sector significantly contributes to GHG emissions in various regions, including Stevenage, where it represents about 29% of total territorial emissions. This contribution encompasses emissions from fuel combustion within households for domestic space heating, cooking, and hot water, as well as electricity demand for household activities. SBC manages housing within the area, with about 8,000 units for social housing. However, our net-zero target also includes the broader residential sector managed privately.
