In addition to the three existing parcel lockers, a further six units are scheduled for installation in February 2026. A pilot programme to install approximately twenty parcel lockers in residential areas will commence shortly, and an update will be provided in the next reporting cycle.
In previous years, three initial InPost parcel lockers were installed at Primett Road Car Park, Church Lane Car Park, and the Bus Interchange. Following the recent introduction of battery-powered parcel lockers, site surveys were undertaken to identify additional suitable locations across the town. This led to the installation of a further six parcel lockers during February 2026.
A public consultation was subsequently carried out to explore opportunities for locating parcel lockers closer to residential areas, improving convenience and accessibility for local residents. Twenty sites successfully passed the consultation stage in late August 2026 and are scheduled for installation over the coming months.
There may also be further opportunities to install a small number of additional parcel lockers within residential areas before the end of 2026.
InPost has also made available a Social Value Fund, which could support renewable and green technology improvements in the vicinity of parcel locker locations, helping to deliver wider environmental benefits to the local community
