Develop an internal emissions reporting framework, aligned with international best practice standards, to structure the Council's annual greenhouse gas emissions reporting.

The Council will produce an emissions reporting framework that is in accordance with reporting guidance outlined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). The framework will outline the following:

Emission sources derived from Council operations across Scope 1, 2 and 3 including some outside of scope sources, utilising the operational control approach.
Carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emission totals for Scopes 1-3.
Location-based and market-based emissions totals.
Any updates to baseline year reporting.

The reporting framework will also be complimented by use of a tool created by a partnership between the Local Government Association (LGA) and Local Partnerships. The tool allows for the standardised reporting of location-based emissions data for local authorities.
