The majority of the Biodiversity Action Plan is implemented with the support of our award-winning Green Space Volunteers.
Here is some additional information about their activities and how you can get involved to help promote biodiversity and enhance green spaces in Stevenage.
Green Space Volunteers help enhance community green spaces throughout the town.
Join us for a fulfilling experience working in a variety of settings, including parks, woodlands, and ponds. Your efforts may include maintaining woodland rides, coppicing, planting bulbs, conducting ecological surveys, improving ponds, and installing bird and bat boxes. Come be part of this rewarding opportunity to restore and protect our natural environment.
Volunteers are welcome to attend for as much or as little time as they can afford. Whether you can spare an hour or four, your contribution is appreciated and valued.
We offer a variety of opportunities both during the week and on weekends to accommodate everyone's availability.
We encourage and welcome people from all sectors of our community to volunteer; no prior experience is required.
You just need to enjoy working in the outdoors and want to make a difference in the town.
Every session is led by a knowledgeable staff member or Lead Volunteer who will support and guide you every step of the way. Come be part of something impactful and enjoyable!
