• Continue cut and collection of vegetation on this site.
• Include scrub management in Martin's Way management plan.
• Reduce scrub on this grassland by a third each year on a 3-year rotation.
• Assess annually success of scrub management.
These actions would be the ideal management of this area. It is however a very steep bank verge. This means a lane has to be closed to carry out any work. There are no cut and collect machines that can operate on this gradient. The thin soil however prevents nutrient accumulation which would lead to degradation of this chalk grassland.
