This is a local wildlife site (LWS). Local wildlife sites are a non-statutory designation that recognises the value of the habitat.
Maintenance keeps the hedgerow in a shape and size and prevents the individual plants to become full-grown trees. Maintenance can be provided mechanically, by pruning or by the traditional craft of hedgelaying.
